The creation of the Phénix network is in line with Wallonia's strategy of intelligent regional specialization. It is part of the Strategic Innovation Domain "Agri-food chains of the future and innovative environmental management" (DIS 5), and is specifically based on the Strategic Innovation Initiatives Foodbooster, DigiBiocontrol and Protewin. By the end of 2025, it will enable the acquisition of cutting-edge equipment (molecular characterization, innovative synthesis, production, extraction, purification and texturing equipment) to serve both researchers and companies. In all, Phénix mobilizes some fifteen research teams.
