Tuesday May 12th afternoon will be dedicated to visits to the PHENIX platforms on the Sart Tilman Campus (University of Liège).

The PHENIX project portfolio, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), is a structuring and multidisciplinaryproject, which aims at consolidating analytical platforms and technological facilities in Wallonia in the field of agri-food and innovative biotechnologies.

This project is highly connected with the Strategic Innovation Domain “Agri-food chains of the future and innovative management of the environment” (DIS 5) of the Walloon Smart Specialization Strategy, and hence, to the IIS FoodBooster behind the organization of this event.

The PHENIX project brings together a network of hybrid platforms hosted within three universitiesof the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (ULB Gosselies, ULiège, and UMONS) and two research centers (Celabor and CER Groupe), with a unifying and cross-disciplinary vision aligned with the DIS 5. In total, 15 platforms and 15 research teams are involved in this project.

The main objective of the project is to strengthen existing centers of excellence within the partner university institutions and research centers, all recognized at the European level, in order to provide Walloon companies (located in ERDF-eligible areas) with high-performance tools and the appropriate expertise, which most of them cannot acquire on their own. The acquisition of 10 analytical instruments and 10 pieces of technological equipment, which are unique and remarkable, is planned during the project.

How to get there ?

Lunch and registration will take place from 12:00 to 12:30 in the B4 “Europe” Building, as well as the presentation of the PHENIX platforms and associated projects (from 12:30 to 13:00, Room 0/90).
