Taking place in the heart of Liège, the event will span three exciting days, with a diverse program, designed to offer a dynamic and interactive experience for all participants.
The event will begin on Monday, May 11, in the evening, with an inaugural general public conference in French accessible to non-specialists, aiming to popularize the latest research in nutrition and health. These outreach efforts are vital in raising public awareness of the importance of healthy eating and nutrition, while also reinforcing the relationship between the IIS FoodBooster and society.
The Tuesday, May 12 afternoon, will be dedicated to guided laboratory visits, open to PhD students, researchers, industrials, and other specialists, in particular to discover the PHENIX analytical and technological platforms aimed to strengthen agri-food research in Wallonia. Participants will have the opportunity to visit three laboratories on the Sart-Tilman Campus (University of Liège), namely the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, the Centre for Protein Engineering and the Laboratory of Food Quality Management.
The final day, Wednesday May 13, will feature the main scientific conference, including keynotes, short scientific communications, poster sessions and industry talks. Participants will first gain deep insights into the current dietary situation of the Belgian population as compared to the updated dietary recommendations. The development of innovative functional ingredients will then be envisaged as a strategy to improve consumers’ health and compliance with the dietary recommendations. Exciting innovations in food research, nutrition science, and sustainable practices will then be touched and evaluated as a way to improve the quality of our food systemsand promote healthier diets for all. Through focused technical sessions, FoodBooster 2026 will also showcase the potential of functional ingredients in shaping the future of food and health.
