Public conference
On Monday May 11, 2026 at 8:00 pm, Nathalie Delzenne, Professor at UCLouvain, will give a lecture open to the general public entitled Innovations in nutrition and health: the intestinal microbiota in focus.
The microbiota is an ecosystem made up of a hundred thousand billion bacteria that "colonize" our intestine and play a key role in human physiology. We provide it with food and shelter. Indeed, diet is one of the key factors in the establishment of the microbiota from birth, and continues to influence our state of health throughout life. What is the link between our eating habits and the intestinal microbiota? What innovations in the field of nutrition are based on advances in knowledge in this area? These questions will be the focus of the presentation, which will take a scientific look at nutritional or therapeutic approaches (probiotics, prebiotics) likely to modulate the intestinal microbiota with a view to preserving health and quality of life.
