The organisation of FoodBooster 2026 was launched by the IIS FoodBooster, led by the University of Liège and the CER Groupe. The IIS FoodBooster is a collaborative initiative of the Walloon Smart Specialization Strategy (S3) focused on advancing the functional ingredients sector, encompassing the entire value chain – from the collection and valorisation of agri-food by-products to the consumption of functional foods, used in human and animal health. It connects key players from industry, academia and public organizations to stimulate innovation, and support the development of environmentally friendly, high-performance processes and products that meet the needs of manufacturers, with a particular focus on prebiotics, probiotics, and bioactive peptides. FoodBooster also plays a central role in enhancing the visibility and competitiveness of the Walloon functional food sector, both locally and internationally.
